About project
On behalf of UNSECO, selected cultural assets along the Silk Road were digitized. On the one hand, the digital replicas are exhibited in virtual exhibitions (BSP: Google Arts and Culture), but on the other hand they are also used for archiving or preservation. The digitization and dissemination of the files is intended to ensure that the cultural assets survive.
About technology
The digital models were created using photogrammetry. On site, local photographers photographed or scanned the object from all sides and transmitted them to us. Based on this data, we then created a 3D model.
Ceramic statue – Seljuk period (13th century)
Brass astrolabe – Kharazm Shahian period (1141 A.D)
